Family History and Genealogy The Family History Files we keep are for the use of our members, historians, and interested family genealogists. We encourage all interested Madison County researchers to add your family history to our collection with either an Ancestral Family Chart, stories, and/or books you have written. Items and materials can be brought to the MCHS offices where we will copy the information and return the originals to you. We are open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are located at 15 West 11th Street, Anderson, Indiana. Also, feel free to mail family charts, histories, stories, photos, and other materials to us. Our mailing address is Madison County Historical Society, P. O. Box 696, Anderson, IN 46015-0696. If you wish any mailed material back, please include instructions to that effect, a return address, and postage. |
Libraries - Research - Materials The public is invited to use our libraries and materials to look for family histories, special projects and subject research. The Nicholson Research Library and the Genealogy Library are both tremendous resources for any research subject. We are continuing to update and add to our databases. Our volunteers are eager to help you find the information you seek. Please be aware that we can not do complete family histories, but can provide you with names of local genealogists for your in-depth research. However, if your query request is minimal, our volunteers may be able to help you. When material is sent to you, please consider a donation to the Society to cover postage, envelopes and copy paper. Since much of our correspondence is now in the form of e-mails which can get your requests done quickly, feel free to use the form below. The form has a message box that expands, so please, fully explain what your query is about, include such items as dates, names, professions and locations(such as townships).
