MADISON COUNTY IN THE GREAT WAR

Marking 100 Years Since the End of WW I

The Madison County Historical Society is please to present to our community, members, and patrons another museum quality exhibit.   The exhibit is titled "Madison County in the Great War."  With the rest of the world, MCHS will be celebrating the end of World War I with this display.  During this summer and fall, the exhibit will feature and showcase the county's soldiers, sailors, aviators, and medical professionals who participated in this first global conflict.

Various local WW I collectors have loaned the Society their military artifacts to make the exhibit more multi-dimensional.  On display will be helmets, uniforms, and weapons.  Other memorabilia and artifacts will be posters and advertisements that were used during that era.

The exhibit will end with a celebration of the end of the war on Veterans Day.  Although that seems a long way away, you need to come as soon as you can to see this exhibit.  Do it today!

Once again, we must give a THANK YOU to Bill Knepp, Linda Jones, and Melody Hull for their very detailed and informative display.
