QUILTERS OF MADISON COUNTY

The Madison County Historical Society proudly presents "Quilters of Madison County" Exhibit which will be on display at the History Center, 7 West 11th Street, Anderson, Indiana.  The Exhibit Hall is open 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  The exhibit will also be open on the Saturdays of December 3, 10, and 17, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Mark your calendars and visit often.  This is a museum quality exhibit!!!  Don't miss this one.

This display is truly a collaboration of old and new.  We bring to you an exhibit of antique quilts, quilts with stories, and new quilts with a little history of their own.  The quilts on display are on loan from local quilters.

Included with this display of fine quilting artistry, are two special collections.  Firstly, a collection representing 30 years of collecting by Society member, Marty Kettron.  The collection is of half-doll pin cushions and all the different items they were used for.  Secondly, a wonderful collection of children's sewing machines from the late 1800s to a Barbie machine.  These are on loan from Barbara Snodgrass.

Our special "Thank You" to Melody Hull, Linda Jones, Linda Lupton, Peg Peters, Kendall Douglas, Arlene Emmert, Redbud Quilt Guild, and Bill Knepp for their work in organizing and displaying all these items.  This exhibit will be on display until the end of day on January 9, 2017.
